Bio
Hi! I’m Sam (she/her), an award-winning director who has worked in practically every area that theatre has to offer, all while remaining a part-time stay-at-home mom to my own little performer. I have a BA degree in Theatre Arts Studies from BYU where I focused my studies on directing and dramaturgy. I am currently an MA candidate at SUU in the Arts Administration program. My passions are advocating for human rights and celebrating new works. I have served on the Belonging, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity committee for the American Theatre Critics Association since 2021 and as a board member for An Other Theater Company in Provo, UT since spring 2022. Recent awards and recognitions include Best Director (for The Days Come and Go and Literally) at Avonlea Theater Company’s Six Feet Apart Festival in 2020 and selection of my ten-minute play Out There for production at the Utah New Works Theatre Project’s 2020 Utah New Works Ten (then promptly cancelled due to COVID-19). My current role as a ticket agent at the Idaho Falls Arts Council keeps me busily involved with the arts in my community. When I’m not working on a theatre project I’m probably searching for my next one or watching Gilmore Girls.
